Updating The Laundry Room Is Our Project Of The Week – 9 Pics

When we moved into our house there was a lot of wall paper, dim lighting and dated cabinets. We figured we’d tackle one room at a time. And this week, we decided to knock out our Laundry room.

As you can see, it’s not really that bad as far as laundry rooms go, but we did want to make it more our style. So we started by removing the wall paper from the far wall. And if anyone has ever removed wall paper, you know that this was by far our least favorite part.

Since we had a very limited budget for “updating” the laundry room, we decided to just paint the cabinets. So we removed all the cabinet doors and painted the cabinets.

Next, we painted the far wall and put all the cabinet doors back on.

Lastly, we went to Hobby Lobby to look for some fun cabinet door handles, and since we couldn’t decide on which ones to get, we just got a mix of fun handles and added them. As well as we bought a “sock shelf” and a couple other fun pieces to fit in the laundry room.

The only other thing we did was we swapped out the old yellow light with a white natural light bulb. As you can see it just brightened up the entire room and made it so it wasn’t so dull anymore. It was a fun, simple and very inexpensive project. We hope you enjoyed it. We did. (Except for the wall paper part. That sucked.)
