@anon: Longtime redditor here. It’s impossible to steal pics from reddit. They don’t host pics. Further, I highly doubt most of the rage comics posted in the ffffuuuu sub-reddit are made by redditors, though some certainly are. But most probably aren’t and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if a good percentage of the time when they say they are it is really just the person karma whoring. You don’t have to use reddit very long to catch people doing that sort of thing all the time to get more karma.
In the case that they are making them, they upload them to imgur, which transfers the ownership of the image to imgur. So it would be imgur that’s being stolen from, and let’s face it, most of the content on imgur is copied from elsewhere without giving credit to the original creator, so if imgur wanted to make a big deal about it, it would be a case of the pot calling the kettle black.
I also find it somewhat ironical that a redditor, which I assume you are from your comment, is lambasting someone for not giving credit to reddit when redditors take any image from any site and upload it to imgur before posting pretty much every time and without giving any credit to the creators.
Finally, the spirit of rage comics is that they are created by everyone and can be enjoyed by everyone on sites like imgur and other such image hosting sites. I’ve never seen anyone try to claim a copyright on any rage comic. This would be even more ludicrous because even the people creating the comics didn’t actually create most (or all) of the images used in the comics. They just took standard rage comic pics and arranged them with some text. The spirit of the whole thing is to share. But even if it wasn’t, if we want to start accusing people of using them without credit, pretty much every rage comic linked to on reddit is being put up without giving credit to the original creators of the meme and base pics on 4chan.

@k, 4chan made up rage comics first so redditors stole it from there.
also, less than 10 of these are rage comics. Pretty sure I counted 8…
